9 May 2009
(Liberation Day in Jersey, Channel Islands)

"The Woman in Black "
The Fortune Theatre, Russell Street

That's it!  The week is done, 27th April  to 2nd May . I had a good time on stage and as far as I can tell, so did my co-actor Tim Watson and our the audiences. There were a couple of standing ovations - and no, they were not audience members desperate to get out!!
Three of the comments I received were :-
(via email:)
"saw it last night - you were brilliant" Bryony.
and another from a member of a school party. to an usher in the interval:
"'ere that old actor, 'es well sick, innee!"
apparently 'sick' now means excellent - but what do I know?
 - and an audience member outside the theatre:
"I've seen this play about fifteen times. That was a real tour de force!"

Another short film is in the bag. It's inspiration is M.R.James short supernatural tale 'Whistle and I'll Come To You'.  This one is called 'The Eyes of the Crow'
and is extremely spooky. When it's available there will be a clip on the site here.

There have also recently been a couple of little pieces for ChannelBee.com and internet TV station under Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment  banner,  in their Gags section. A cockney chippy an old geezer having lunch with his mate (Sugarplum gag) and the older brother of 'The Edge' from U2 (The Edge Beography). Worth a look, I reckon.

"Dr Who - "The Angel of Scutari"

My latest coup is to play Sir Hamilton Seymour, the British Ambassador to St Petersburg - a bit of a fop. This is for the 'Big Finish Productions'  Dr Who audio plays, to be released on CD and download. Sylvester McCoy is the Doctor with Sophie Aldred as his side-kick, Ace and Philip Olivier as Hex.

I have a short film on the web too. It was shot for the Virgin Media Shorts collection and its called 'Snowy and Me'.    At two and a half minutes long it's worth a look and I think its very funny. I appear in it a couple of times (or so) and am also the narrator.

The Chelsea Flower show is running this year from 19 to 23 May as will Hampton Court Flower Show,  7 to 12 July and together with my fellow Tall Fellas I will assisting the public with their choice of Dining venues and generally being highly visible and helpful. Look out for us on the BBC TV coverage.

For four consecutive Mondays in August, at  the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Gardens at Wisley, I appeared and interacted with the visitors as Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker. In the mid 1800s  in the Sikkim province in the Himalayas, Hooker discovered  Rhododendrons, as well as many other plants and flowers and some exciting adventures he had too.
I was joined by four other actors, including my Dual Theatre Co. partner, Richard Latham, as Sir Ernest Henry (Chinese) Wilson -
discoverer of the handkerchief tree

The Irish Network of Dramatic Arts (INDA) production of Sive by the celebrated Irish playwright John B. Keane, in the 50th anniversary of its creation was extremely well received at all its venues.

I played the Tinker,
Pats Bocock. who with his singing daughter Cathleen, is a travelling soothsayer, news bringer and commentator on local affairs.
There were two performances at the Harrow Irish Centre (Salvatorian College) on the 8/9 March, extremely well attended and the production acclaimed a resounding success, followed by three weeks at The White Bear in Kennington until 30 March, then 11/12 April at the Haringey Irish Centre, finally travelling to Limerick on 19th April for a week at the Bell Table Theatre.
We  also went to Liverpool on 17th May to participate in the Liverpool European City of Culture 2008 celebrations.

Still available for daytime work, voice-over short films etc so lets be having you then !!
