18 July 2010
From 15th June to 4th July I was playing 'Michael' in Frank McGuiness's "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me" at the Pleasance Theatre, North Road, London N7. Based on the hostage experiences of Brian Keenan , John McCarthy and Terry Anderson this is a highly charged and also a very funny play. Set in a small, permanently lit room somewhere in the Middle East, the three characters, Adam, an American, Edward, an Irishman and Michael, an Englishman live their restricted, chained up lives hoping for the best and trying to show their unseen captors that they have not been broken, by shooting movies, writing imaginary letters and sometimes gently, sometimes not so gently sniping at each other to allay the otherwise crushing boredom of life as a captive. Review from Irish World by Shelley Marsden: London- Irish actor John Casey is powerrfully charismatic as flawed, straight talking Irishman Edward, while Charles Angiama brings a quiet brooding strength to the role of Adam. Seán Brosnan, as Michael brings an entirely different dynamic to the table with his quiet, studied reserve - foil to the bigger personalities of the other two. Each in his own right is utterly captivating. ..INDA UK have done it again ..,. one of the best pieces of theatre we've seen in a long time! This year has seen me again at the Chelsea Flower Show and at Hampton Court Flower Show being magnificent and authoritativeas well as pleasant and helpful to the guests at the restaurants. Well that's all for now. Don't forget . . . I am available for theatre, corporate, voice-over, short films, feature films, television, commercials, etc - so let's be having you then !! or
